1. What This Policy Covers
This Policy covers our website and any page, form, or landing page we operate under our own domain. It does not cover third-party platforms where you may also find us, such as Google Business Profile, Facebook, Instagram, or a review site. Those platforms set their own cookies under their own policies, which we do not control.
The exact set of technologies on our site changes as we add and remove tools. This Policy describes everything we use or reasonably expect to use, and we update it when that set changes materially.
2. What Cookies and Similar Technologies Are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. On your next visit, the site can read that file back. Cookies are what let a website remember that you dismissed a notice, that you already filled in a form, or that you arrived from a particular advertisement.
Related technologies work in similar ways:
- Local storage keeps information in your browser without sending it back to the server on every request. It generally holds more data than a cookie and does not expire on its own.
- Pixels, tags, and web beacons are tiny invisible images or snippets of code embedded in a page or an email. Loading one tells the server that the page or message was opened, and can pass along the page address and a cookie identifier.
- Software development kits and scripts loaded from another company, such as an analytics or advertising provider, can set that company’s own cookies while you are on our site.
- Server logs record requests made to the website, including IP address, browser type, and the page requested. These are created by the web server itself rather than stored on your device, so blocking cookies does not stop them.
A first-party cookie is set by the website you are visiting. A third-party cookie is set by a different company whose code that website loads. Third-party cookies are the ones that can follow you between different websites.
3. The Four Categories We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary
Required for the website to work at all: security, spam prevention, load balancing, keeping your quote form submission intact, and remembering your cookie choice once you have made one. These cannot be switched off through our website, because turning them off would break the pages. They do not track you across other websites.
3.2 Performance and Analytics
Used to count visits, see which pages people actually read, find pages that load slowly or produce errors, and understand which search terms and referring sites bring people to us. This tells us whether our service pages are answering real questions. Reporting is aggregated, and we do not use analytics to identify you personally.
3.3 Functional
Remember choices you have made so you do not have to make them again, such as details already typed into a quote form, or a chat conversation you started so it is still there if you change pages.
3.4 Advertising and Targeting
Set by advertising platforms to measure whether an advertisement actually led to a quote request, to avoid showing you the same advertisement repeatedly, and to show our advertisements to people who have visited our site or who resemble our existing customers. For a small local business, the practical purpose is knowing which advertisements are worth paying for in Livingston Parish.
These are the cookies most often described as tracking, and they are the ones your browser controls and the opt-outs in Section 9 are aimed at.

5. Third-Party Cookies and Embedded Content
Some cookies in the tables above are set by other companies, not by us. We do not control how those companies use what they collect, and their handling is governed by their own policies:
- Google Privacy Policy, covering Google Analytics, Google Ads, reCAPTCHA, Maps, and YouTube
- Meta Privacy Policy, covering Facebook and Instagram advertising tools
Note that embedded content such as a map, a video, or a chat widget can set cookies simply by appearing on a page, whether or not you click it.
Clicking a link that takes you to another website, including a link in this Policy, hands you off to that site’s own cookies and privacy practices. See Section 18 of our Privacy Policy.
6. How Long Cookies Last
- Session cookies are deleted as soon as you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them. The tables above give the expected lifetime of each.
- Local storage has no expiry date and remains until you clear your browsing data.
Clearing cookies in your browser removes them regardless of the stated expiry.
7. Consent and Legal Basis
Strictly necessary cookies are set because the website cannot function without them, and no consent is required for them under United States law.
Where we operate a cookie consent banner, analytics, functional, and advertising cookies are set only after you accept them, and you can change your choice at any time by reopening the cookie settings from the link in our footer or by clearing cookies in your browser. Where no banner is shown, you can still refuse every non-essential cookie using the browser controls in Section 8 and the platform opt-outs in Section 9.
Declining non-essential cookies does not affect the price we quote you, the service you receive, or your ability to contact us, and we will never treat you differently for refusing them.
8. Your Choices and How to Manage Cookies
Your browser gives you direct control. You can block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, delete cookies already stored, or ask to be warned before one is set:
Most mobile browsers offer the same controls in their settings menu, and every major browser offers a private or incognito mode that discards cookies when the window closes.
What blocking cookies costs you here: you can read every page on this site with all non-essential cookies blocked. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop our quote form from submitting or cause reCAPTCHA to fail. If that happens, call or text us at (225) 241-0244 and we will take your details directly. You never have to accept a cookie to get a quote from us.
9. Opting Out of Analytics and Advertising
You can opt out at the platform level, which works across every website rather than just ours:

- Google My Ad Center controls Google advertisement personalization
- Facebook Ad Preferences controls Meta advertisement personalization
- Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance cover many advertising companies at once
Opting out stops advertisements being personalized to you. It does not stop advertisements appearing, and it does not delete data already collected.
10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed industry standard for interpreting it, and our website does not respond to it. Use the controls in Sections 8 and 9 instead, which do work.
Global Privacy Control is a newer browser signal that several states treat as a legally binding opt-out of the sale of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information, as stated in Section 12 of our Privacy Policy. Where a state law treats our use of advertising cookies as sharing for targeted advertising, we honor Global Privacy Control signals as that law requires.
11. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes to the technologies we use or to applicable law. When we add a materially new category of tracking, we will update this page and revise the “Last Updated” date at the top. The current version is always the one posted here.
